11/10/2019 – Week 3 Preview

With week 3 upon us, we are in familiar territory. Somehow, we always end up seeing the winless team taking on the undefeated team, but here we are again. Let’s see if history repeats itself.

Game 1 of the night pits the winless Ghoulies against the lossless Body Snatchers. All the pressure is on the Body Snatchers as they don’t want to be the first team to fall to the hapless Ghoulies.

The Ghoulies started off strong last week against the Stay Pufts and were ahead going into the second half. A couple of goals put the Pufts up for good as they padded their stats in garbage time at the end of the game. The Ghoulies have had a strong second half in week1 and a strong first half in week 2. To pull out the win, they’ll have to string together one solid game.

The Body Snatchers are off to the races as they haven’t found themselves in the loss column. They’ll have to keep up their offensive production while providing goalie Chad Miller with plenty of defense.

Players to Watch

Ghoulies goalie Tony Smith is back from vacation. He needs to have a strong game back if he doesn’t want to end up on the trading block.

Robert Robles of the Body Snatchers was all smiles last week as he hasn’t suffered a loss since rejoining the league. He wants to keep it that way… or he may take his ball and go home.

The late game features two teams stuck in the middle of the pack: The Stay Pufts and Aliens. Should be a good game.

The Stay Pufts got a little rough last week picking up 3 penalties, but their PK was on fire and saved them the game. Their going to have to reel in goonery if they hope to pick up a W.

The Aliens had a full squad but failed to put up goals on the Body Snatchers last week despite their depleted numbers. If Phil Heichel returns this week, expect the Aliens to turn it around and find themselves on the score board a little more often this week.

Players to Watch

Dane Ortiz of the Stay Pufts found his game last week. We expect him to try to keep it up this week and help carry his team.

The Aliens Colin Lang got some new skates last week (from this century!). He looked a little wobbly at times, but with a week under his belt, look for him to make more of an impact this week.
