11/16/2019 – Week 4 Preview

Week 4 is here. The night’s games will start with a 1/2 minute of silence in memory of Body Snatcher’s forward Robert Robles and his ultimate sacrifice to save that potential game-tying goal. Instead of a firing rifles or ringing a bell, we shall blow on kazoos. Attendance is not mandatory.

Game 1 will be a rematch of the classic we saw in week 1. A late goal gave the BSers the win, but this game could have gone either way.

The Stay Pufts are looking to leapfrog the Body Snatchers in the standings and can do so with a regulation victory. A stronger defensive game is going to be needed to keep the high-powered offense of the Body Snatchers in check.

The Body Snatchers dropped a heart-breaker in controversial fashion last week, but they were still able to pick up a point. They are going to need an equally strong defensive game to keep goalie Chad Miller in the game. With Robert Robles out indefinitely, the BSers are going to need to step up to replace his offensive output (yes, that’s a double entendre…).

Players to Watch

Chris Read of the Stay Pufts is looking to exact some revenge for the early season loss. He should be gooning and thugging it up with the rest of the crew to intimidate the BSers into submission.

Body Snatchers’ defenseman Justin Griffin looks to continue his solid play this week. Another solid game is going to be needed to keep his team in this game.

The second game pits the 1-2-0 Ghoulies against the equally 1-2-0 Aliens. Last time these two teams met, the Aliens ran out to a large 6-0 lead before the Ghoulies even showed up.

The Ghoulies are riding a high after they picked up their first ‘W’ of the season last week. They need to keep last week’s pace up to not fall behind quickly like they did last time these teams met.

The Aliens are looking to take it to the Ghoulies again, and they will require a strong performance from their forward core to carry them.

Players to Watch

Brad Repka of the Ghoulies has been a disappointment on the scoresheet this season, but he vows to turn it around. Look for him to start taking shots from pretty much everywhere.

The Aliens offense is salivating at the thought of this game. Their only strong offensive game was back on week 1 against this Ghoulies team. Look for their O-line to be rejuvenated at the prospect of this game.
