Game 1 – 8:00pm
Waste Management (1-1-0) vs. Legendary Stoners (2-0-0)
The Legendary Stoners took the first meeting between these two teams in what was widely regarded as one of the most boring games in SARHL history—a 3-2 snoozefest where Waste Management forgot to score, and the Stoners forgot to entertain.
Since then, the Stoners have continued to win, even if their playstyle is making fans question their life choices. Zack Merullo and Ryan Lewis remain as predictable as ever, while Junior Yupanqui continues to be SARHL’s self-proclaimed trans-playmaker, refusing to shoot despite his DNA screaming at him to do so.
But Waste Management is a different team than they were in Week 1. Back then, they lacked leadership (because Captain Penn didn’t show up), and the offense was sluggish. Since then, Penn has returned, dropped a hat trick, and reminded everyone why his team is never truly out of a game. Throw in the chaos agent that is Ian Chase, and this rematch could look very different from the slow, grinding mess we saw in Week 1.
Keys to Watch:
- Will the Stoners keep their perfect record intact, or will Waste Management’s newfound confidence derail them?
- Can Junior finally take a shot, or will he continue his silent protest against goal-scoring?
- Can Ian Chase defy physics again and score another goal with an unintended trajectory? (He’s trying to break the laws of nature at this point.)
Prediction: Waste Management should have the edge this time around—if they can crack the Stoners’ frustrating playstyle. If this game is another low-scoring grind, expect the Stoners to escape with yet another “How did they win again?” victory.
Game 2 – 9:00pm
Southside Sicarios (1-1-0) vs. Dignowity Gentrification (0-2-0)
Last time these two teams met, the Sicarios ran Dignowity out of the building, winning 7-4 and making it look easy. But a lot has changed since then.
The Sicarios are coming off an absolute disaster of a game, getting steamrolled 11-4 by Waste Management. That loss exposed some serious defensive issues, particularly Jaiden Hernandez’s brilliant decision to bench his best scorer, Collin Iacarella. (Spoiler: it backfired.) This time around, Jaiden is unlikely to test fate twice, so expect Collin to be back in the lineup, ready to rack up more points.
Meanwhile, Dignowity Gentrification is still looking for answers. Through two games, they have yet to find any sort of offensive consistency. Felipe Rodriguez has kept them in games, but no goalie can win games alone—especially when the team in front of him is allergic to scoring. Captain Andrew Minerd needs someone to step up, or it’s going to be another long night.
Keys to Watch:
- Will the Sicarios actually play defense this time, or are they embracing the “just outscore them” lifestyle?
- Can Dignowity finally put together a competent offensive game, or will they remain the league’s most frustrating mystery?
- Will Jaiden ever make a good roster decision, or will he continue experimenting at the expense of his team’s success?
Prediction: If the Sicarios come in focused, they should take this game fairly easily again. But if they let Dignowity hang around too long, we could see an upset.
Final Thoughts:
- The Stoners are looking to stay unbeaten, but Waste Management is suddenly looking dangerous.
- The Sicarios need to bounce back in a big way after their embarrassing loss.
- Dignowity Gentrification is in must-win territory already. (Not a great sign in Week 4.)
Will history repeat itself, or are we in for some upsets?
