Game 1 features the Demogorgons on their revenge tour against the Unicorns. Way back in week 1, the Unicorns took the Gorogns to task by running out to a 6-0 lead in the first. The second was much closer, but the Gorogons couldn’t close in as they dropped that game 11-4.

Since that loss, the Gorons have been on a tear picking apart both Los Chupacabras and the Krakens by a combined score of 13-3.  They are going to be looking for goalie Felipe Rodriguez to continue his stellar play and shut down the Unicorns if they hope to end the Unicorns streak.

At the other end, the Unicorns spent the past two weeks equally hammering on the other two teams by a combined score of 16-4.  Forward Brian van Vlymen has been on fire as he is tied for the league lead in goals (8) and leads the league in points (12).  He’ll have to continue that performance to help the Unicorns overcome the confident Demogorgon squad.

Players to Watch

Demogorgons duo of James Neely and Marley Ros have been making opposing teams look foolish.  Last week, Neely picked up 4 goals with Ros assisting on each.

Robert Robles missed the first meeting between these two teams, but as he was looking at the box score from that game, his eyes started to widen. He wants to cememt his place on this team and show that he deserves to be higher than a 5th line forward on the travel team.

The late game features the two teams struggling to make something work.  The Krakens escaped with a victory over Los Chupacabras last time these teams met in a game that was much closer than the 8-5 final.

Los Chupacabras find themselves without a win so far this season, but they’ve been getting better every week.  Reversing fortunes of the last meeting between these teams might be exactly what the Chupas need to get out of the gate.

The Krakens picked up their only victory of the season in week 1 over this Chupas team; however, this isn’t the same team they faced last time.  With both teams sporting their top guns, the game is going to look much different, and the Krakens are hoping the defensive prowess of David Hastings will be enough to counter the offensive output from the Chupas Evan Cumpston.

Players to Watch

Peter Guevara of the Chupas has been their most consistent performer this season, but he can’t do it himself.  Look for him to rally his teammates and raise him game to push the Chupas to victory number 1.

Wayne “Eh” Garrick wants to return to his week 1 form where he picked up a lifetime high 3 goals and 2 assists.  If he can replicate that success, he should have no problem elevating his team to victory.
