SARHL Updates

Reminder! No League Games this Sunday 5/12 as the SARHL observes the holiday of Mother’s Day. There will be pickup hockey at 8pm-10pm.

Week 4 Results

The SARHL was back in action this week as the rain held off and Jaiden had a leaf-blower. Two action packed games occupied the humid, downtown night featuring a Dawg Pac double header. Felipe stood on his head for as long as possible, keeping the Gargoyles at bay during a late 3rd period surge to help the Dawg Pac take game 1 of the night. In the late game, the return of Coach Penn proved to be too much for the tired dog pack adding a couple goals and assists in front of a lockdown performance from Greg between the pipes.

For the June 15-16 ECHO Tournament, this is a Club Men’s Division only event. If we can fill out 8 Skaters and a Goalie we will travel up there. Coach Penn will already be there coaching the Youth teams so we might as well put an Iguana team in.

Iguanas competed in the Bronze Division at the Nemesis Hockey “Babe Ruth Classic” tournament this last weekend. With games running 2 hours behind, the boys battled it out but fell short in the semi-finals.

WEEK 1 SCORES

Week 1 of the Spring SARHL Season kicked off with a beautiful rendition of our national anthem by Carrie Underwood underneath a classic pink-and-purple san antonio sunset. The night’s action would feature two close games as the new squads got together for the first time. The Dawg Pac took on the seasons first double-header squaring off against the Gargoyles in the early and the SALSA! in the late. The Gargoyles, led by an offensive charge from Augie aka Mr. Caitlin rallied to a 6-4 win to capture the spring season opener. In the late game, the puck control of the SALSA! by Mallery, Jacob and Micah turned out to be too much for the tired Dawg Pac, resulting in a 3-1 win for the SALSA!. See you next week. Winter Season – Congrats St. Paul Square Snipers

The Winter Season concluded this last Sunday with two close, action packed games. The Semi-Final saw the 2nd seeded Snipers emerge victorious over the Gravediggers led by Jake Hernandez’s 2 goals and assist, notching the game-winner in the process. In the finals, the top-seeded Defenders would get off to a slow start, allowing the Snipers to take an early 2-goal lead. The Defenders would fight back with 2 goals of their own, however the Snipers would tally on 2 more goals from Junior to secure the SARHL Winter Season Championship, even without their captain DOHO Burdge.
