SARHL – Championship
Congratulations to our Fall Season champion, the Downtown Devils.

Championship Game Recap

Championship Game: Downtown Devils(#1) vs Broadway Bruins (#2)
The league final featured the 1 and 2 seeds from regular league play, the Devils and Bruins. During the season these teams would split their head to head match ups at one a piece setting the stage for the Winner Takes All Championship game. The game started off with opportunities from both sides testing the keepers of Taylor and Ricky, until Captain Gary Burdge was able to break the championship game ice late in the first period putting the Devils up 1-0. The second period saw the Devils spark an offensive run adding 3 more goals from the captain to extend their lead to 4-0 after two periods. After some mid period coaching from Captain Minerd, the Bruins would finally find the score sheet early in the lead with JR Yupanqui tallying a goal to cut the lead to 4-1. The Bruins would get another jolt of life after the Devils scored … on themselves … to bring the game even closer at 4-2. This score would be short lived as the Devils immediately answered (their own goal) with a goal in the correct net coming from the stick of Blackburn, assisted by Evans to extend the game back to a 3 goal lead. In the final moments, Johnson would add one more for the Bruins to make it 5-3 but that proved to little too late as the clock expired and the Downtown Devils became champions of the SARHL.
